Bright as Blood

Elle est sortie sur leur album de 2017 Light Is the Night Dark Is the Day.

Paroles

I lay awake thinkin’ about what it would be
I’ve got an idea, so what would I need?
My hands that I worked with or is it my mind?
The former I think if the weather is kind

I need me a maker, I’m starting to date
I need me a maker, but not on this wage
It’s not worth the money and sure not the time
I’ll find me another when the weather is kind

As soon as it’s started, it’s over I go
As soon as it’s started, I already know
This isn’t for you and it’s not for the fee
It’s nothing I like so it’s nothing I’ll be

See my friend, he’s there, he’s bright as blood
And I say to you, if he works in the mud
Would you give him a minute, would you still shake his hand?
If the answer is no, then you’re less of a man

As soon as it’s started, it’s over I go
As soon as it’s started, I already know
This isn’t for you and it’s not for the fee
It’s nothing I like so it’s nothing I’ll be

This is my journey and I’m getting close
I don’t think I’ll make it first and foremost
Find me a reason and I’ll find history
It’s nothing I like so it’s nothing I’ll be

As soon as it’s started, it’s over I go
As soon as it’s started, I already know
This isn’t for you and it’s not for the fee
It’s nothing I like so it’s nothing I’ll be
Nothing I’ll be, nothing I’ll be…

The Devil Had a Hold of MeBright as BloodLove in Vain

Love in Vain

Ain’t No Grave

Redemption Day

I’m Ready

Paroles

I’m ready, ready as anybody can be
Yes I’m ready, ready as anybody can be
I’m ready for you, hope you’re ready for me

I got an axe handle pistol on a graveyard frame
That shoot tombstone bullets, wearin’ balls and chain
I’m drinkin’ TNT, I’m smokin’ dynamite
I hope some screwball start a fight

’cause I’m ready, ready as anybody can be
Yes I’m ready for you, hope you’re ready for me

I been drinkin’ gin like never before
I feel so nervous, I want you to know
One more drink, wish you would
A whole lotta lovin’ to make me feel good

’cause I’m ready, ready as anybody can be
I’m ready for you, hope you’re ready for me

Yes I’m ready, ready as anybody can be
Yes I’m ready, ready as anybody can be
Yes I’m ready for you, hope you’re ready for me, yeah

All you pretty little chicks with your long blonde hair
I know you feels like I ain’t nowhere
Stop what your doin’, come overhere
I’ll prove to you baby that I ain’t no square

I’m ready, ready as anybody can be
I’m ready for you, hope you’re ready for me

I’m ready for you, hope you’re ready for me

Black Girl

Paroles

Black girl, black girl, don’t lie to me
Tell me where did you sleep last night
In the pines, in the pines, where the sun never shines
Shivered the whole night through

Black girl, black girl, where will you go
I’ll go where the cold winds blow
In the pines, in the pines, where the sun never shines
I’ll shiver the whole night through

Black girl, black girl, don’t lie to me
Tell me where did you sleep last night

My husband was a railroad man
Died not a mile from here
Head was found in a driver’s wheel
His body could never be found

Black girl, black girl, don’t lie to me
Tell me where did you sleep last night
In the pines, in the pines, where the sun never shines
Shivered the whole night through

Black girl, black girl, where will you go
Will you go where the cold winds blow
You cause me to weep and you cause me to moan
You cause me to leave my home
